Several mocks have Liam #2 and would Colorado not draft a guy from Tennessee?

Not wild about that. I've seen some scuttlebutt on Doyle that says he's probably a back-end bullpen piece long term. Which, cool, definitely useful, but I don't want that at 5.

Agreed. At that point, just take a flyer on the prep pitcher, Hernandez. At least the upside is undeniable

Maybe so.
He does have 3 pitches that play off of that fastball in a slider, cutter, and splitter.
I believe it's his durability that could be a bigger question mark.

The pitchers the Cards want will be gone so go with Arquette as a run producer and put him at 3rd base. Don’t take Doyle at #5 !

He will be a closer not a starter in MLB

That's what I was given to understand. From what little video I've seen, he looks like he's got a high energy wind-up. In my VERY uneducated opinion, it doesn't look like there's a lot of moving parts that could get out of whack, but he very much looks like he's putting everything behind every single pitch. Whether he actually is or not, I don't know. But I'm not willing to spend a #5 pick to find out.
I like Doyle from a talent standpoint a lot. But especially given that two of our top pitching prospects have a big chance at not necessarily making it as starters but BOB pieces (Roby and Hence)...I don't know. I'd chance it if we were picking in our usual late teens/early 20's pick in the first, but I really thing we need a big moonshot in this draft, especially since we're picking no higher than 10 next year regardless of our record.

FWIW, Bloom has only taken one college arm in his career (Brendan McKay).
I saw ^ sentence in a very recent mock.
