How dare you!... you'll be straightened out soon by Bob who will tell you Oli is a great manager!

Oli will revert to benching him as soon as he can. Then he will say it's to build confidence.

He has 5 starts in a row and 8 in June. He’s playing…

Give Gorman 400-500 AB and see what happens

Gorman is not a second baseman. Anyone who thinks he is needs his head examined. He’s also a platoon player at best.
Weatherholt will be the second base next year and they need to plan accordingly.

I’m just as big of a Gorman fan as anyone but when everyone is healthy he’s not a regular starter. I do think he should start about half the games. If I had it my way Arenado would be traded and Gorman would start at 3B but this isn’t PlayStation where you can force players and other teams to accept trades.

Agree that Wetherholt may fit best for 2nd base . If Cards wish to retain Gorman , then 3rd base would be his spot IMO.

Wetherholt has yet to make a single PA in AAA, let alone MLB. Lots of "can't miss" prospects actually do miss.
Meanwhile, the supposed FO plan for this year was to once and for all find out what the organization has in Gorman and Walker. Having them ride the bench will not fulfill that goal. They have to play.
But how much patience will the midget manager have regarding this duo?

Hard to tell what most of these players are. I’ve never seen a group of Cardinal players who go through periods of looking like consistent ML players and then with snap of finger are lost for MONTHS. I’ve seen hot streaks and slumps in the past…..but the good starters typically don’t get lost for a month or 2. That’s 1/3 of season……days, maybe a week or so….these guys are giant holes in the lineup and OLI takes for ever to move from key spots in the lineup. Gorman/Walker killed the team last season. Goldy/NA destroyed the middle of the lineup last season. Team needs a psychiatrist

He will hit 20-25 homers with a 230 average. Ton of Ks and incredibly streaky, carrying your team at times and burying your team at times. I'm not siding either way, do you want that or don't want that?

I am by no means an Oli fan. I think the team can do better.
But:
Yes......Gorman needs to play. But where??
If Herrera was catching- he could DH. And Herrera has clearly demonstrated he needs to be in there every day over Gorman.
Donovan is a better 2B and hitter.
Arenado is a better 3B and hitter.
Burleson is a far better hitter than Gorman.
Now Walker is back and needs to play.
Oli has his work cut out.
It’ll be interesting to see if Noot and/or Arenado is dealt at the deadline.
To summarize- they need to give Gorman AB’s to see if he can produce. Unfortunately all the above named deserve to be in the lineup.
Except for Noot.

Still waiting for the "carry the team" phase. Maybe today is the start. LOL
