What are the odds that a player drafted makes The Show in MLB ?

Less than 1 in 5 players drafted ever make it to the majors. As you would expect , the percentage is better if selected in the 1st round.
According to Baseball America stats between 1981-2010 , 73% of first round picks make it to The Show. so almost 3 of every 4 selections in Round 1.

Round 2 - 49%
Rounds 3-5 - 32%
Rounds 6-10 - 20%
Rounds 11-20 - 11%

Wish you could trade picks like in the NFL



I would gladly trade down 10 spots in Round 1 for 2 2nd Round picks and a 3rd or maybe even for more.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this. Teams have a greater investment in Round 1 picks and will eventually promote some that do not warrant it whatsoever.
