Burleson looked like a pig on ice skates last night

It is getting really difficult to watch him in the field. He covers no ground and takes terrible routes. His play cost several extra bases last night.
I know injuries sort of forced this, but brutal

Yes it was Burleson's fault that Grey's meatballs were getting hammered by the light hitting Brewers

Jeesh...despite all the supporting data you've been shown and despite watching Burly turn singles into doubles and doubles into triples, you still defend him as an outfielder?

Here's a clue for you Shady...Burly can suck defensively AND a pitcher can suck. The two are most definitely NOT mutually exclusive!

That makes no sense. Because Gray (spelled with an A Shady not an E) was getting lit up means that Burleson should play a horrendous outfield?

Not the biggest problem on this team, by any means.

Yep, Gray was pitching poorly, so no other player deserves scrutiny. Perfectly logical, is it not?

Did he say it was the biggest problem on the team? He merely emphasized that which all the raw data confirms...Burly is a very poor outfielder who really never should be out there.

Does his ability to hit singles while contributing very little otherwise justify his playing time? That is the question we should be asking ourselves.

He's coming up with stranger approaches to defending Burly by the day. what's next? It's ok that Burly doesn't have any home run power because Ryan Vilade got sent down? these things have nothing to do with each other

I don't see any real problems. In fact, I'm amazed at how well they have played this year. Nobody really expected them to compete. It was always about seeing what the have. They have roughly a 500 team. A 500 team without any stars.

I look forward to seeing what Bloom does with this roster.

He’s hitting .292. Wish all the starters were hitting in the .290s.

+1 I guess its just in blow outs he plays defense in close games he plays all star caliber defense lol. Its a bad spot they need his bat in the line up with so many others struggling but he is awful on defense

Why not DH him with Herrera. Or trade him.

I’m not a fan of Burly’s defense at all, but there’s no one on this team I would rather have at the plate against a right handed pitcher with runners in scoring position.

I support your strategy, Dog. Burly is an OK to OK+ MLB hitter with very little defensive value. I want more than that in our corner outfield spots. Walker's injury is shining a light on the Cards dearth of corner OF talent. Burly is a DH, Donovan is a 2B, Noot is a solid 4th OF. And all three are LH.
