There are other teams that do this as well. It is crowded in the middle. In baseball, 40% of the teams make the playoffs. But, a team in the middle doesn't even HAVE to make the playoffs. If we are "contenders" that's all you can do. If we can just see there from here, we've given a good-faith effort.
