Noot exposed

I'm one guilty of thinking Noot is an outfield starter. I'm dead wrong. He has enough talent to be a 4th or 5th outfielder....that's about it. We need to come up with a LF starter. I'm willing to look at Koperniak and/or Church (preferable). They can't do worse and I'm disinclined to think that Siani is worth another shot as a starter. Please. Maybe once the fix Davis' hole he will become a starter in a year or two. But, for now, get the LH batter Nootbaar out of the lineup and put a RH bat in there....Maybe even platoon. But, Noot is stinking the place up.

Koperniak has a .608 OPS in Memphis, I’m not sure that is where I would be turning to right now.

Nothing wrong with hoping a guy succeeds.

When he was called up I believe he was projected to be a platoon type extra OF'er player.

Some trades were made, TO couldn't stay healthy then fell out of favor, Bader and Edman weren't going to get the contracts they wanted from this organization and Nootbar was for lack of a better term a lazy cheap choice and somehow marketable with the fans.

He's had his moments but we need a lot more.

I don’t believe he’s exposed. I believe he is who he has always been. Some of you guys just bought the organizational hype job.

He was/is a guy who was left after a half dozen other OF'ers were done away with and was never going to be good enough to play CF and wasn't going to hit enough to play a corner OF spot.

That was readily apparent years ago.

He's a solid 4th OF'er on a good team and would only start 145-games for a not so good team.

Lars Nootbaar is the most overrated Cardinal since Matt Carpenter

Good to see you come around - and speaks well of your character that you are willing to change your position as facts dictate.
I, on the other hand, have been perfect in my analysis for the past 4 seasons.
There is a reason I applied the perfect branding of Lars the Human Sushi-baar.
Best used in moderation.
Anything more than that will always leave an empty feeling.
Will always leave a feeling of needing more, wanting more.
Not bad as an occasional break from true sustenance.
Not good enough to ever be more.

Suffers from the same baseball disease: passivity.

Cards haven’t had a legit OF since Holliday and Beltran were out there.

We need a right handed corner outfielder who can OPS .850 and then we need Walker to grow into that type of production. I’m hoping Bloom trades a catcher and a middle infielder for one.

Those types are few and I guarantee you any catcher and MI the Cardinals have won't get you one. Then of course you's have to pay him and that isn't happening either.

I’m also willing to offer either Noot or Burly plus Sagesse and Crooks for an .850 OPS corner OFer.

Baez could be that left fielder by 2027, possibly sooner. He could also regress, but, the signs are positive.

His value really came down since his popularity fresh off that WBC. 2023, you could have got a pot of gold for the guy.
