I don't care who they bring up, this guy can never be allowed to pitch for us again this year. What kind of idiot manager keeps using this guy? He's like throwing gasoline on a fire every time he goes out there. Maybe he goes down to the minors gets it together, and get another shot in spring training, but he can never be allowed to throw another pitch this season. How many times do we have to watch him do this?

Blame Mozeliak.

He stinks but he did have some bad luck tonight.
First two hits were a dribbler and a bleeder.
The wild pitch is the story of his career though.
Awful command.

Maybe, but I bet Tony would refuse to pitch him. Oli's the one who keeps giving him the ball.

What about Dusty Blake ? He’s the pitching coach .
What’s his accountability ?

Who knows? But the manager is the one who decides who gets the ball. In a game that isn't over, you can never let Roycroft pitch. He has had a terrible season, and may have the worst pitching stats in baseball right now. I'm too lazy to look it up

Does Roycroft have secondary pitches? Seems like everything he throws is a fastball

LOL
Very true!
If MO put Fredbird on the 26 man and Oli put him in what is Blake supposed to do???

This is the thing though. We say this about most of our pitchers. Pitch to contact ground ball guys have a role but relief ain’t it. We need more swing and miss guys. Mikolas fedde pallante helsley(recently) roycroft etc just aren’t missing bats and that’ll lose over time

They could use more power arms that’s true.
But when Maton is on or Leahy is on it’s about their great command not velocity.
You can be successful both ways. Roycroft has zero command.
He throws with decent velocity but he’s always behind in the count.
Then the only way he can throw a strike is right down the middle.

Here’s another thought- maybe the credit goes to the hitters. We are playing teams above .500, and although losing, we are competitive.

The teams we are playing are baseballs best, so I’d expect some push back.
