Starting to think Marmol has something against Gorman when he pinch hits for Gorman with this guy. If Marmol is going to pinch hit for someone maybe he should have pinch hit for Nootbar who is not taking very competitive at bats lately.

Oli does the best he can with the terrible roster that he has to work with, blame the owner and the pobo. It is what it is, if he finishes above 500 with this roster they should put a statue of him in front of the stadium.

Isn't the reason for carrying a 3rd catcher that he has a good bat? Why wouldn't you put him in there? Either he or Gorman give 10x better ABs against a LHP.
But Vilade is on Mo just as much. He should have released him after Oli started him 3 times in 2 days last week.
If Mo doesn't release him today you can bet Vilade's got compromising photos of Mo or the Dewitt family.

Pozo hitting there instead of Vilade would have made a lot more sense.

Vilade still being on this roster and still getting ABs is proof this is not a serious team.

I'm sure many will disagree with this for purposes of defense, but, I thought it was pretty (bleep) of Oli to take Herrera out for the ninth inning, after catching, what appeared to be, a pretty well called(and defended) game. Yes, on paper maybe Pages is a better defensive catcher, but, Herrera had caught well for the game, and, he had just hit the game leading home run. I immediately thought it was a pretty suspect move, and, even if it worked, would not sit well with Herrera. Then, just to pile on, Helsley had been pretty bad lately leading up to the game. I'm not saying it was a really bad call to bring in the closer to close the game. What I am saying, and what I have continually said for years now, is that Oli/management needs to be better about judging when a pitcher has it, or doesn't have it, and use the best pitcher in the best situation when the situation dictates.
I would have probably kept Herrera in, and, if Helsley's control was off(which it was), use Maton or someone else that is pitching well that day. I know this is armchair quarterbacking, to some extent, but, I had a bad feeling when Oli made the catcher switch, and, I already had a bad feeling about Helsley from recent struggles. Sometimes you have to go with odd choices to make the best choice when the evidence dictates the odd choice is the better choice in the situation. Oli overmanaged the end of the game, and, whether it made them lose, or not, I don't know. But, it didn't feel right to me, and, just maybe, it didn't feel right to the rest of the team, either. Rant done.
