his fastball seems very hittable and when he has to throw it over the plate he gets hurt

Good gane. Number four against a very good team.

agreed.. QS I do believe

but to jbrachs point, his fastball seems to catch too much of the middle of the plate and his breaking pitches don't have much 'snap' to them.. kinda rolls in there.. guys were teeing off on them. even when they were out of the zone, guys were hitting it hard

After two last night I thought for sure this was his last start but he really rebounded.

I've been very harsh on Pallante, even calling for McG to replace him.

But last night he did a good job after that poor start.

I think he’s under close observation but not at risk but he has 2-3 stinkers all bets are off.

First off....I got home late and did not see Pallante pitch.
From the stats(6 innings 2 runs) he seemed to do ok.
Again....can’t comment on how he “looked”.
The Cards rotation will figure to be in a state of flux throughout the season. I think it could look very different in 2026.
At the moment only Gray would appear to be locked in. And while I don’t consider him an Ace I see him as a solid TOR starter.
After that:
Fedde/Matz/Mikolas- any or all could be gone.
Libby- solid so far but will he hold up or back to the BP?
McGreevy and others looming.
As for Pallante?
His fit will probably be as a backend SP or back to the BP.

I don’t see the need to demote a guy who gives you 6 innings and 3-4 runs. And is so named your named your number five starter.

Half the league can’t get that from their internal Aces.

his ERA is just under 5 and yes he did rebound after his poor start last night but it seems to me even as a 5th starter we can do better

How do you figure- better. He’s a number five. Two runs six innings is a gem for a number five.

Eh, he's okay. Legitimate back end starter. One super pitch away from becoming and elite pitcher. I hope he finds it in St Louis for the Cards. Maybe a splitter like that Japanese pitcher the Dodgers have.
