First , this is NOT my prediction of the first 4 players taken in the 2025 draft . What I would like is your feedback on who you think would be the Cardinals 5th choice IF these players were off the board .

These four listed alphabetically:
LSU P Kade Anderson
FSU P Jamie Arnold
Tenn. P Liam Doyle
Okl. HS SS Ethan Holliday

It would be a rare opportunity for the Cardinals to take a guy like Hernandez.
IMO though, they also need to be in love with him if they do.
IF it went this way It'd be between Witherspoon, Arquette, Willits, and Carlson.

Gotta be Willits.

17. Switch-hitter. Solid hitter who can spray the ball. Athletic. Fast. Son of a big leaguer. May never hit a lot of home runs, but has no real weaknesses. Excellent SS, but fast & athletic enough to switch positions if needed.

I want him or Holliday.

I'm taking Willits. Has a high ceiling, switch hitter, and is pretty toolsy already. Being a middle infielder may block him some, but seems like CF could be an option as well.

Willits is a good choice. Being so young, if Winn outplayes his potential, he'll possibly price himself right out of St. Louis. Willits would be a very good insurance policy.

It's a shame that we now have to think like Pittsburg, and Tampa fans, but that seems how it is now.

I would take Hernandez. The cards would take Arquette.

Went with Arquette due to his ability to be on the roster within the next 2 to 3 years while we still have Winn and Wetherholt and possibly Donovan. Team lacks rh power bat and a natural third baseman. Willits may very well outperform him over the long term but we are looking at 5 to 6 years most likely for Willits. However if Arquette is gone then Willits or Hernandez is my next choice.
One other thing, I’m soon to be 72 so I rather see the Cards win sooner than later.

Carlson

You go deep into the playoffs with outstanding starting pitching. A future starting pitching staff of Hernandez, Liberatore, Mathews, McGreevy, and Roby works for me.
