I disliked Mayers but I don't think it's fair to say he never recovered. He had two pretty good years right after he left here.
Pretty common story.

Your hatred for management is showing. The kid will be fine even if he suffers a huge loss. The idea that he is that delicate is silly.

I remember driving home from a job and listening to that game on the radio. Hard on the ears. Felt sorry for the kid.

2016 didn't realize it was that long ago. Would have guessed 2018 or 19.

I know Matheny was the manager then.

What a stupid post. Today wasn’t McGreevy’s first start. It wasn’t even that terrible of a start against the Dodgers. And even with the start McGreevy’s career MLB ERA is 2.41.

I liked McGreevy’s start. He had one bad inning. I watched every pitch. Many were good pitches just hit by good hitters. Smith’s 3b was a bad pitch, but I think Scott would have caught it. Edmond’s 2b was a pool Q ball hit and Kim’s 3b was so far inside it almost hit him. After the bad inning stepped up and pitched well. Plus didn’t walk anyone. He needs to be in the rotation fairly soon.
Concerning yesterday’s discussion on official scorer discretion, it was shown again today. It was definitely a passed ball not a wild pitch.
