holding the Dodgers scoreless for 17 consecutive innings with the firepower of Ohtani, Betts, Freeman, etc

The 1 run in 18th inning was a bouncer that hit the bag and eventually scoring on a ball in the dirt and not by a hit.

That was the amazing part to me. Cards got the third out every time Dodgers did threaten with RISP.

Yes, baseball is a funny game. The Dodgers are going to go off big time against someone and break out of this. Hopefully not today! I mean Freddie Freeman is a great hitter and he has looked terrible so far. Ohtani ... same. Hopefully the dogs continue to sleep for one more game ......

Yes a good two games pitched. Today as we speak, we could win a first round series- and we are not even talking about Libby yet.

Yes, spot on. A team can go nearly scoreless and then get 12 runs the next game when everything goes your way. As you say, hope they wait one more day .

Yes, I mean if you were offered Freeman and Ohtani in a fantasy league trade for WC and any other STL player.. duh. Mookie has looked OK. But Freeman and Ohtani have not hit any missiles that were right at guys or anything. You know those guys are great hitters.......hopefully not today.

Cards pitching had been very good then:
*Faced the struggling Rangers and got lit up!
*Faced the struggling Royals and got lit up! Royals then get outscored 11-3 vs the White Sox.
*Face the high scoring Dodgers and completely shut them down in two games.

Go figure? Glad I don’t bet on baseball!

Something to keep in mind- Gray and Fedde - pitchers who keep hitters off balance are exactly the type of pitchers the Dodgers struggle against.

Might have just upped Fedde’s trade value by creating competition for him among teams competing with the Dodgers or perhaps the billion dollar Dodgers themselves who just put another pitcher - Gonsolin - on the IL
