So McGreevy's 1st assignment this year is Dodgers

I'm hoping for the best, but you know the kid has to be a bit nervous, right, even though he's been up before?
And he's facing future HOFer Kershaw, but he is no longer in HOF form very often.
Can't wait. I'm thinking the Cardinals relive some history against Kershaw and give the kid some breathing room. 6-3 victory is my forecast.

Hes pitched well what a great opportunity im excited to see McGreevy in there seemed like the logical next move

Here’s a take- not that his start want going to be tough enough, he’s pitching against a scuffling team trying to stop a sweep.
Very tough assignment.

Math odds say Ohtani should hit a HR today as he averages a HR every 3 games and didn’t hit one yet.
Doesn’t mean it is guaranteed .

Good for him. Perfect opportunity for him to throw a great game against a great team, stay up for the 6 man rotation in June, and make the Cardinals look like fools if they try and send him down again.

If he throws a convincing game, it will be quite the National buzz.

The Cardinals have pretty much no choice here unless they wanted send down a position player for a bullpen arm and keep Matz out of the pen Fri & Sat in order to start today.

All teams are limited to 13 pitchers on the 26-man roster.

Well he has pitched in the mlb this year, but is his first start.
He’s probably more excited than nervous. Hopefully.

1 run in their 18 innings vs Cardinals and that was a gift!
Either M. McGreevy will mow them down and continue their slump....
...or the poor kid is gonna get lit up by a way, way overdue awesome lineup about to lay it on someone.
Let's hop the kid keeps them scuffling and hurls six shutout inning!

I hope the Dodgers continue scuffling through today and then take it out on the Padres and Giants this week. But if they continued scuffling through this coming week they could be looking up at the 3rd WC spot.

May 2025 vs Mets. 2024 faced Tex, Pitt, Col, and SF. All were wins.
Today, as always, it is about control, location, and velocity. Not his youth or inexperience.
