"Recently Hot Hitting vs. LHP" Burley, on the Bench.

Bad news on Walker returning on the on the 10th....he had to take a shot this week to his wrist, which should lengthen his IL stint. And will likely require a rehab stint in the Minors. We miss you, Jordan.

Unbelievable. No Barrero either. 3 straight starts vs LHP and you don’t play Barrero one of them?

It's a joke at this point. Vilade shouldn't be anything more than a bench player and late game sub yet here he is with his third start in a row after going 0-fer yesterday.

How do you ever expect to see what you have with Gorman if he never faces lefties and plays half the time vs righties. Hes being totally wasted rotting on the bench in a rebuilding season.

I was pretty sure Oli would start Vilade given he homered off this guy last season.

Teams obviously are loading up the LHSP's vs our lefty heavy lineup.

We actually aren’t bad vs LHP though. Our 11-10 record vs LHP is the 12th best record in baseball vs LHP, essentially tied at 1 game over with Cubs (9-8) and Mets (8-7). Dodgers and Phillies are worse than us. Of the current potential NL playoff teams only the Padres 11-9 record is better vs LHP.

For comedic relief the Rockies are 1-17 vs LHP 8O

Yep

I wonder what the trend is lately (last 10 games vs LHSP) given the slumps of Noot, Donny, Burleson and VSII vs LHP?

Probably better. I remember that one road trip not long ago that our record vs LHP was pretty dismal and we had a boatload of LHP’s coming up, like 5 over 9 games. I think we went 4-1 vs LHP that trip through. Then we were 1-1 vs the LHP’s yesterday.

7-3 in last 10 dates back to last Ragans start on May 16. Go back a few starts further and it’s 10-4 in our last 14 games dating back to when our record was dismal. Meaning we were 1-6 before the last 14 starts.

They always want to look like the smartest man in the room...Starting Vilade 3 straight games is just dumb. I was starting to like Oli a little more but now he does this. Unless Barrero, Burly and Gorman have injuries there should be no excuse for this. The fans deserve much better.

And yet here they are. 2nd in the NL Central. How many thought that would be?

They'd be no worse than 2nd place in the AL, and actually be leading the AL West.

Not just focusing on last night but with Walker hurt I sure thought Donovan would be playing more outfield letting Gorman in the line up.

It feels like they really want to find a more permanent outfielder. The natural reaction is they would trade a Gorman since not being used. I’m wondering if Walker is on the trade block. If they can find his replacement. He would bring more than Gorman.

Don’t get me wrong. Gorman is a disappointment to date. In some ways I get why he is not playing. He has had his chances.
