Was impressed with Caglianone's debut despite 0 for 5 night

As with any kid's major league debut , his family/friends were on the edge of their seats watching him take his first hacks in The Show.
His first at bat was a hard hit curve ball liner to right center where Victor Scott ran it down with a nice leaping catch. Close but no cigar on getting a hit in his first attempt. Later he his a couple hot shots to Arenado where Nolan showed why he is a 10-time Gold Glover .
Jac Caglianone ended the game with no hits but he put the ball in play. Looks like the kid has a powerful bat .
His first major league hit may come tonight vs. Mikle Mikolas . Sure his same crew of family /friends will be in attendance tonight hoping for his first major league game. One thing last night's game showed is that defense can be quite spectacular in the big leagues. Balls that go for hits at AAA, AA, A ball and college get caught quite a lot in the majors. The best of the best are in the field every time you come to bat. You find out quickly just how elite major league caliber players can be. Last night may have been a 3 for 5 night at AAA . The Show can humble you in short order.

How many would say that about an 0-5 Cardinals debut?

Not many .. some would say 'He was brought up too soon ! ' lol They go by the box score rather than what was done in the game.

My thought was I care less. Had it not been mentioned here, I’d have missed it. I do care about McG and Matthew’s moving up. Not an opponent.

Caglianone and Wetherholt were back to back picks in MLB draft.
After the first 5 players selected, Cards reportedly were excited they would get one or the other. KC took Cags at 6 with JJ at 7 .

Yeah, was impressed with his EV throughout the night.
With Witt Jr., Garcia and now this kid maybe KC can compete decently the next few years IF they can get decent pitching to go along with it.
