This seemed odd - according to the radio broadcast

Marmol warmed up Matz and then sat him down and warmed up someone else. Horton explained for those wondering why that happened it was because if the Cards got the lead they would have put Matz in the game. Then they ended up putting Matz in the game anyway. 2 hits in 1/3 of an inning. 3 runs 1 earned.

If Leahy and Matz are coming back to earth this bullpen (and this stretch of extremely winning baseball) is in serious trouble.

Bingo, (I'm not worried about Matz).

But Leahy's not "coming back 3d, he's crashed:

Since May 7th
9 2/3 IP
4.66 ERA
15 Hits
3 Walks
1.86 WHiP

He's given up hits in 8 straight appearances, in seven he gave up multiple hits or added a walk!

The good news?

Helsley
Maton
JoJo
King

Are all pitching really well!

Perhaps but why would they warm a guy up, sit him down, then put him in the game?
