For a while Herrera seemed to be the needed clean up hitter. Now, not so sure. Now, maybe another #6 type hitter.

He has a .998 OPS, a bad few games doesn’t change his lineup spot or how his outlook is.

I'd also platoon Pages/Pozo given Pages weak bat, he can always come in late if you want better defense.

IH is still out hitting AB vs RHP by 70 points in OPS.
To me if more hitting is wanted have Pages catch less. Maybe
platoon vs running teams. No need for 3 C's IMO and the
Cardinals prefer Pages over Pozo.

Agree, Burleson should play OF about as often as he pitches.

Who could have predicted that?

Every player on this team is a two week hot or cold streak away from having most of this forum completely change their opinion about them.

+1 people think anytime a hitter slumps which every hitter does then that’s who they are and they will never get hot again. At the beginning of the year people were saying Winn needed to be sent down that he lost it

No doubt

The league has found a hole (down and in), pretty sure Hererra and B. Brown see it too and are working on an adjustment.

This thread title should be abbreviated to "Oli needs to go".

Until this recent stretch, herrera has hit righties better in his career than lefties. Do you think herrera is now work out vs righties while mysteriously not vs lefties? Or is this 6 for 40 stretch vs righties while hes hammered.lefties in between more likely just chance.

Seems obvious its more likely chance.

Its funny cuz he isnt even 6 for his last 40. Just 6 for last 40 vs righties while hitting lefties during that span. Weighting that as him needing to sit vs righties would make kore sense if he always killed lefties vs facing righties but he had reverse splits until this recent strezch and still about same splits for career making it just seemed like a very contrived cherry pick.

Some people also think any time a hitter gets hot he’s figured something out and will never revert to what they’ve always been.

That would be fine if he did revert to what he’s always been he’s a career .299 hitter .379 .820OPS hitter in 432 plate appearances that would play. I’m shocked people are talking about him because he didn’t keep hitting .400 lol it was never going to happen he like all hitters was eventually going to slump

Spot on.. Example ..Brewers Yelich struggled first 2months.. Then in last week, he reached base 21 of last 40 PA.. a .535 OBP
During last 7 games, Yelich hit .400 as Brewers won 7 in a row.
His average for season climbed to .233.
Yelich still striking out high rate and many ground outs.
He will revert back from thid current hit streak.

Exactly as you pointed out.
