Should Burly, Gorman, Fedde or Mikolas be added to this list?

If the Cardinals stay close. They probably need to keep Maton around this season. I'm guessing McGreevy can replace Fedde or Mikolas.

Why would you trade Burly
. Plays multiple positions and last I looked was hitti.g in the .280s

If in the race, hold on to him. If not, maybe trade him if the return is really good. A top 15 prospect from an organization might be of interest to the Cardinals for the future.

Are there any teams really hurting for starting pitching that might be interested in obtaining Fedde? Open up a spot for McGeevy in the process.

Burleson is a guy. A bat only guy with a .730 OPS. If some team wants him as a toss in by all means let him go.

I like Burly for his LH bat but not vs LH pitching.
With all due respect what are these multiple positions that he plays??

Are you kidding? Yeah, he can play the corner OF & first base. But he doesn't play them well. He can't run....one of the slower players in MLB.

Now...about hitting in the .280's. Well, okay...he's hitting .279. But it's a soft .279 as evidenced by his .403 SLG%. Thats not good when hitting and running slow is all you can do. He has 11 XBH's & 16 RBI all season.

I'd love to trade him, but come on...who needs a player like this?

Burleson could be a valuable LH pinch hitter for a contending team.

How the mighty have fallen!

A player you once called a doubles machine and comped to Gwynn or Votto now is, at best, a valuable LH Pinch hitter.

Agreed. Best case.

-0.1 truly uninspiring

Obviously, Burleson has under performed, overall. I like Contreras as a Cardinal. But he hasn't exactly "lit it up" either, overall.

As a Cardinal...Contreras:

2023 .826 OPS
2024 .848 OPS

why do continually compare these two? It just makes you look dumber than you already are (if that's possible).
In 2025 Contreras got off to the worst start of his career and still leads the team with 31 RBI while mashing 16 XBH's.

Since becoming a Cardinal in 2023, Contreras has a combined 6.6 fWAR. In that exact same time frame, your beloved Burly sits at 0.4.

You need to stop comparing them. It just shows your utter lack of baseball acumen.

Some dumb[ash] thinks a 800k player is expected to produce like a 18 M player. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

You put on the uniform, and if given opportunities, you're expected to produce. Several young Cardinals are not making the big dollars, yet they are producing.

Heck, it's almost as if one HAS to produce in order to make the truly big bucks! Contreras has produced and he makes big money. Someday he'll be joined by guys like Winn, VSII, Hurdy Gurdy, Libby, and others. It's looking doubtful that your beloved Burly will ever join them!

Given your reasoning, if offered a chance to play for $50K a year, I could not be criticized due to my low salary! I may strike out every time and move like a statue, but it's okay, because my salary is low.
