I thought the ruling was very questionable.

It could have went either way but I can see giving him an error. I think he’s out if Winn had handled the play with urgency but I watched it several times and it looked like he was pretty nonchalant and taking his time then when he looked up and saw him streaking down the line he then rushed the throw and it went wild. I think if he had been all effort on the play they give the guy a hit but the taking his time then having to rush probably bought him the error. Winn is smart though and he learned a lesson I’ll bet it doesn’t happen again
yeah, no idea why Contreras came off the bag.. easily could have stayed on thereJDW wrote: ↑31 May 2025 10:28 am The Ranger announcers wondered where Contreras was going.
On replay, it looks possible the runner is out if Contreras stays on the bag. It also looked like Contreras could have stayed on the bag and could have caught the ball.
I'll have to look up Haggerty's sprint speed, as it seemed he got down the line very fast.
Think I'd have given the hitter a hit on that play. Even if WC stays on the bag and can catch the ball it looked to be bang bang.
The throw was high, not in the dirt, and Contreras could have easily stayed on the bag.rockondlouie wrote: ↑31 May 2025 10:22 am Winn's error for sure OR
He took too much time, then gunned it into the dirt.
My bad lightrod, been a busy morning and I was mistaken thinking of something else.Lightning Rod wrote: ↑31 May 2025 10:42 amThe throw was high, not in the dirt, and Contreras could have easily stayed on the bag.rockondlouie wrote: ↑31 May 2025 10:22 am Winn's error for sure OR
