It's an impressive turnaround. Of course, freakin cubs on track to win 101.

Its ridiculous. The Cubs aren't this good and have to come back to earth soon. But at least we are in playoff position now.

And the Cubs doing it without their top 2 starting pitchers out.

The Cubs last 15 games have included 6 v. Marlins, 3 v. White Sox, 3 v. Reds & 3 v. Rockies. It doesn’t get softer than that.

That said - the Cubs are good. Even without Imanaga & Steele, their roster is still stronger than the Cards. We have the edge in starting pitching & bullpen right now, but getting Imanaga back will close that gap considerably. The lineups are not close.

Their schedule has been crazy easy (after a tougher April). It gets a little harder going forward. If the Cards can hang close until the four game series in STL on 6/23-6/26, that would make for an exciting vibe at the park.

PCA on a 45/45 pace is insane. They scored 9 runs total against the Rockies this week, so maybe the offense is slowing down a little.

The main thing I watch for in the standings is for the 2nd place type teams to lose as often as possible . Regardless how Cubs fare , every time one of those type teams lose it puts the Cardinals in better position to qualify for playoffs. Want to win the division first but if we can't , beat out those other 2nd place teams and secure the wildcard .

The fact that the Cards are pretty much staying pat during this schedule break fir the Cubs is huge. The new problem is, nobody in the Central loses any more!

I’m sure other fan bases are saying the same thing about the Cardinals.

How are theCubs doing it. We are on a run of like 18-5, 6-4 in last ten, but Cubs go 8-2. That Hune 23 meeting looks big.
