Should Burly go to outer space?

And forego a perennial MVP and HOF career? Would be interesting to see if his physical tools and baseball IQ would correlate to a career in space exploration. It would be one small step for Burly but one giant leap for mankind. Not sure how Oli would feel. Discuss.

He should. It would open a spot for saggese, and then we could have some great baseball talk about HIS calves and potential against tough right handed pitchers with wipe out sliders…
…until another new minor leaguer comes along to worship.

Great point. I didn't even think about doors it would open for Sagesse and related baseball discussion. Good post.

He has unique abilities and talents that may benefit him when clubbing martians as well as drop kicking them with his huge and powerful calves. I think he could get a leave of absence from the brass and that would open up the door for the Thomas Saggese tryout. He isn't hitting much in AAA though. Some Burly tips could help him.

Your post seems to suggest Burly would be under-qualified? Peak physical conditioning and high baseball IQ = astronaut. Your post was on OT so we’ll let this one slide.

Doesn't he need to defend his whipped cream belt at Wimbledon in their pie eating contest, take care of his baby cows and won't he miss arm wrestling his Chinese buffet cook buddy Bruce?

Spot on analysis. Never thought about how his bat-to-alien-skull skills could aid in survival. NASA and Cards brass would agree. Great post.

All good points. If any one can keep up it would be Burly. These are valid concerns that must be carefully considered.

But think about this...is Burly the alien? Maybe he doesn't need to go to outer space, he's long been there. How else do you explain these tools he wields?

Burly's skill set is transcendent...very few players can match his potential...hopefully the whiners will not try to highjack another excellent baseball discussion.

Forrest Gump went into space. Not the movie Forrest, but the book Forrest.

It’s pretty well known that East Carolina develops some of the finest minds and explorers this nation has ever seen. Reportedly, the university taught quantum physics in the gym at the recommendation of Alec so that he could broaden his horizons while doing five hundred calf raises an hour.

I can't wait for the next fascinating topic from Shady's boy.
