The emergency starter was 0-7 lifetime and carried a AAA ERA north of 6 in 2025 but kept the Yanks at bay for 6 innings with only Judge hurting him. What a game in front of a sell-out crowd. Gotta love the variance of the sport. Onward and upward for the Rox.

Reminds me of true story of my HS alma mater football team. With one game remaining in conference schedule, Lincoln needed a win vs. the worst team that year Sheboygan North to win the conference championship outright. A loss and co-tie . North had not won a game .
The Lincoln coaches stressed during week how this wasn't going to be easy game as it would make North's entire season to upset Lincoln to knock them out of sole conference champion. So the kids got that message from the coaches. The parents of the players were going around telling others how Lincoln would slaughter North. So the players kept hearing that message in their ear.
Sure enough . North upset Lincoln and spoiled the outright championship. Coaches knew to be wary of the game but parents underminded their message all week long. Lesson : You better be 'up' or you may get your butt kicked.
