Yes you should use closer at home if tied in 9th. Better chance of going to bottom tied with chance to win. Then use Leahy in 10th if still tied. Point is you did not get a chance to use your strongest option from pen.

It was Helsleys lane to pitch 9th
Oli plays with favorite toys too much and has overused Leahy lately

Leahy has been far better than helsley. I dont like oli but this is just dumb criticism looking to blame him for any loss

Leagy already entered to finish 8th. He couldnt leave then come back for 10th
Besides. Leahy has been better than helsley.

Leahy being overused a bit on all these multi inning appearences is the only legitimate argument in this thread that i can acknowledge.

It’s a good question, hasn’t pitched since May 14. Last 3 outings were scoreless ones. A bit odd.

Yes.
I do criticize Oli, but I do point out when the criticism is silly.
Ball hit 5% harder by Walker, maybe it would be different.

Do you really prefer Leahy in the 10th with a ghost runner on 2nd base ? Hmmmm ?

Simple Baseball 101 Logic says you use closer in top of 9th at home.
Oli said postgame he wasn’t going to use Leahy for just one batter
Ridiculous comment and shows his weakness as manager
No need for Leahy to pitch 9th, none whatsoever
Make them beat your closer

you mean it was a mistake to let our best relief pitcher thus far pitch the 9th in a tie game?

Nah leaving Leahy in was the right move. He's been dominant all season. One little hickup and yall are questioning it
If Oli had got to Helsley and he had given up a run yall would be blaming him for not sticking with Leahy

They must have signed him after Marmol got the flow chart for bullpen management.
