How's that "reset" (tanking) looking right now?

I took a lot of grief from some for saying an 84 win team should be bolstered, not discarded. Lest we not forget, Arenado was basically traded to Houston and he put the kibosh on it. And the Sonny Gray showcase was shutdown immediately by Gray himself. This is really got to aggravate the ownership that was pushing for a tear down. Let's hope they see the error of their ways. But...but...but...Milwaukee has all those coaches!

Considering they never actually committed to it and have been quite fortunate so far with respect to injuries and over performance, and that it's still unknown if they'll actually give Gorman and Walker enough runway, I'd say it's still TBD and/or an irrelevant question.

I was w/you at 86 wins CC as long as they kept Helsley, Fedde and NADO.
This is a fun team to watch, they play hard and seem to have great chemistry.
Going to the stadium has been fun too, tons of wins and short lines!
I suspect I'll be getting more tix request from customers now that they're winning, bunch of frontrunners.

It’s still a reset: it still takes time. Just think, when they get thru adding in the next1.5 years, two off seasons, we should be a league power.
What happening everyone is playing for the end of year assessment. Competition. In this case brought out the best in most.
The cuts/trades at the end of year will tighten the ship.

Trading gray and Nolan doesn’t equal a ‘tear down.’

Mik and Matz will be traded. Helsley should be. These players are gone after this year. The return will be minimal. The cash saved is nice. McGreevy starting instead of Mik Will more than sufficient to replace Mik.
The rest of the team is carried by vets and youth. A nice blend.

I imagine all the players, agents, and management already know if a player would like to stay at what would be a reasonable deal for both side or if the players want to chase the money. Can't blame them if they do. Mik will be gone for sure year end. Matz probably traded. I would love to keep Helsley.

Truth is they would have traded all three of Gray, Arenado and Contreras if Arenado would agreed to go to Houston and Gray and Contraras would have waived their NTC. The goal was to give Bloom as clean of a slate as possible for 2026 while seeing what they had in the young players in 2025.

I agree with that. They may have traded Helsley and Matz as well.

When I read these comments it has dawned on most people that the Cardinals are on their way to 92 wins or more if they stay relatively healthy.
I don't believe reaching consensus reflects reality. They should not trade for any prospects unless it is SP.
