Observations

Last night I watched every pitch and at-bat for the first time this season.
I came away with these observations/thoughts:
1 This is a much better team than I ever thought they would be this year.
2. The players all seem to be having fun - I know winning makes sports more fun but they do seem to want to be out there.
3. Pallante really showed me something - didn’t wilt in critical situations when game was close. He only made 1 bad mistake and didn’t let that get to him.
4. Bobby Witt Jr is a helluva player.
5. Scott II needs to read balls hit at him better.
6. I may have been completely wrong about Marmol. He’s got everyone pulling in the same direction and it certainly appears the players are buying in.

Sound observations for watching your first game completely.
I have watched every game (with exception of Apple stream) and concur with you.
Watch a few more now and return to CT.with more
PS Just curious why you didn’t watch any of the first 44 games completely?

To be fair, that was the worst flub I've seen from Scott this year. And the shakiest he has looked all year over the course of a game. I tend to chalk it up to either a bad game or having trouble with lights in an unfamiliar stadium.
I'm also not sure anyone but for a couple guys in the league catch that ball he misplayed.

Apparently, we were all duped by Oli, or he's been replaced by a doppleganger. He used to constantly shuffle the entire lineup, sitting productive bats when most needed, pull starters way too early, and burn through bp arms like kindling.
He's stopped doing all 3 of those this season. For once, can't complain about him, and have no desire to. He's doing a helluva job so far.

I’ve watched plenty, just not an entire game.
Have had in background while doing other things mostly.

It was really windy last night.

VSII
+6 DRS (2nd in MLB, +2 off the lead)
+5 OAA (3rd in MLB, +3 off the lead)
We have to keep in minds he's still earning the road parks, his reads will get better w/experience in those stadiums.

Thanks for the stats, he's been fantastic. One game and people want to make a judgement call. Odd.

In theory playing more in a park should help with adjustment.
However, the games played in each park, 3-4 per year outside of the division, would only amount to 30 or so for ten years.
Is that enough games to learn much.

Welcome Alex
The kids a stud, going to be in contention to win a GG one day.
People who's never played at a high level don't understand the difference between stadiums, the kids learning many new ones this season and the different wind currents, jet streams, backgrounds, ect.....
I have no issue w/VSII except I want him to run even more when he gets on base!

I agree. I'm looking for Vince Coleman-type base stealing aggression.
He's got the speed for it.
Marmol may be holding him back.

Bingo
I've been saying that too, Oli is the one anchoring the kid too many times.

I know you don't and I know you do. I want him to run as much as heavenly possible.

#5 accurate when assessing just that last game. Not a good sample though as his reads have been by far his biggest improvement from last year. Hopefully just a blip/temporary regression/bad game.

He’s still a little unsure…..especially around the wall. On tonight’s play he was jumping when all he needed to do was glide back to wall

It does appear the team is playing with more passion. Defense looks good.
Let's see if they can continue to play solid ball.
