City lose to San Diego FC.

Post by Rosthol »

Well they didn’t get shut out.

Just seems like more of the same.

Looks a lot like last year.

What has happened to Hartel? Teuchert? Klauss? Becher?

What has happened to Louwen?

San Diego hit a couple of posts or else it would have been much worse.

Did Olof Mellberg wear shorts again on the sideline? If he doesn't care to look the part and bring some professionalism to the proceedings, why should the players?

You are right.

It should have been worse.

Not sure the wearing of the shorts has anything to do with it.

I keep seeing difficulty developing play and connected passes out of the back. City SC starters don't appear to be a strong passing team and opposing teams know this and are setting high pressure and regaining possession. Then it gets tough and tiring to be defending all the time. At least Burki will be back soon and his better distribution skills might help some. Go City!

Playing out of the back is the strategy du jour.

Even if you can’t do it.

Burki being back didn’t help.

They changed it up a little last night with Burki in goal. He was throwing the ball 30-40 yards and goal kicks to midfield.

When they did play out of the back, the passing became more over the top past midfield. Although possessions seemed short, City still completed 84% of their passes.
