The brothers who own the team are famously loyal to their "personal favorites" - players and staff who they like on a personal level.

The owners actually keep an office in the stadium, and they work from it so than can stay close.
It has created a terrible situation for that organization over the years.
The current manager - Black - is one of those extremely well like personal favorites and that is the sole reason he was not fired over the past several years, though it is obvious that is what needs to happen.
Their GM - Schmidt - has known and worked for the Monfort brothers for more than 20 years and was promoted to his current role about 4 years ago (despite being poor at his previous responsibilities).
He has been the worst GM in the game - but the brothers have a personal friendship with him and that has kept him employed.
Super Slo Mo and The Marmot are not very good.
But by comparison they are better than the trainwreck out in Colorado.

Say what? The Rockies are on pace to be by far the worst team ever in MLB by losing 137 games. Did you miss the part where I posted how the Rockies were truly horrible? MLB needs to force a sale of the team and/or relocation from Denver, where baseball cannot be reasonably played.
