The 7 consecutive wins far exceeds any current NL team.
Only 6 of the 15 teams won their latest game. Nobody in NL central except for Cards are coming off a win.
Cards 8-2 last 10 games is best in NL also.
Will Cards play the remainder of the year at this latest winning pace?
Of course not. No team will play the remaining 120+ games winning 80% of them.. not 79% either. Winning 60% of all games in a seaso season gets you 97.2 wins. Very few teams win 97 or more.
So enjoying the 80% win rate lately . That pace will end soon but the ride had been super exciting.
Go Cards!

"Will Cards play the remainder of the year at this latest winning pace?"
No, but we might keep winning at a 67-70% pace in home games, like we have all year so far - so STL fans need to come out to Busch and see the wins.

No, an 80% win rate isn't happening in MLB for anybody, but what if the Cards won something close to 65% of the Gray and Libs starts, 55% of the Pallante and Fedde starts and around 40% of the Mikolas/McGreevy/Mathews starts? That'd be something like a 56% win rate for the rest of the season. That'd put them around 89 wins. Realistic? Probably not, but just throwing stuff at a wall. Maybe not likely, but also not impossible.
Could a combo buyers/seller strategy strengthen this team?. Fortify the BP while trading Gorman and Burleson.
It might be unpopular, but what if you became buyers for the BP, while trading off Gorman and Burleson to help achieve that while sending Walker back down? Cards could call up Sagesse and Koperniak, both of whom I think would easily out produce what the above 3 have. If you'd rather, trade Burly and Walker with Gorman sent down.
And what have the trio of Gorman, Walker and Burleson provided so far this season? A combined bWAR of -0.5. That's fine if the goal of the team is a "reset" to see what they have, but IF instead the goal was switched to trying and win the division this year, how do you best strive to achieve that.
I think both Sagesse and Koperniak would project to provide positive value to the team.
Is this what I think the team should do? No, not at this point, just thinking out loud, but what IF the team continues this streak out to where they find themselves in 1st place and close to 10 games over .500 before the deadline? At what point do you switch focus for this year? Maybe there is no point, lol.
Also quite possible the team soon goes on a dive, and this all become mute. Who knows?
