Ohtani has 7 HRs and 10 RBI. That’s what the Dodgers get for leading him off. It was remarkable that he had 130 RBI last year when 419 of his PAs came out of the leadoff spot. This year all of his PAs have come out of the leadoff spot and it’s a little different.

I think stating 419 of his PA were in the leadoff spot is a little misleading. Yes, he batted leadoff in the lineup, but once the game started he surely didn't bat leading off an inning with no one on base 419 times.

Overall, Ohtani is himself not yet hitting as he did last year, but the bottom of the Dodger lineup has been abysmal, so Ohtani rarely has anyone on base when he comes up.

It’s not misleading, he hit in the leadoff spot. The leadoff spot is rarely a good RBI spot. And yes it shouldn’t be surprising that he rarely has anyone on, you don’t put your good hitters in the 7, 8, and 9 spots. The Dodgers bat Ohtani leadoff while their 5th spot has a .304 SLG%.

He’s still hitting very well this year. Better OBP, lower SLG%. OPS of less than 100 points off.

Pages started hitting, so naturally they moved him up in the lineup.

He’s been going nuts, actually… since 4/22 - .545/.571/1.000
