I think stating 419 of his PA were in the leadoff spot is a little misleading. It’s not misleading, he hit in the leadoff spot. The leadoff spot is rarely a good RBI spot. And yes it shouldn’t be surprising that he rarely has anyone on, you don’t put your good hitters in the 7, 8, and 9 spots. Overall, Ohtani is himself not yet hitting as he did last year, but the bottom of the Dodger lineup has been abysmal, so Ohtani rarely has anyone on base when he comes up.
