His Baseball Savant page is crazy to look at right now. The tools are jumping off the page in a good way while the production jumps off the page in a bad way.

The good tools by percentile:
Bat Speed: 99th
Max Exit Velocity: 98th
Arm Strength: 97th
Sprint Speed: 85th

The bad production by percentile:
Whiff%: 7th
Chase Rate: 11th
xwOBA: 8th

Major League quality breaking balls continue to be his kryptonite. It will be one of the main storylines of the season to watch unfold, to see if he can develop the discipline necessary to lay off the breaking balls out of the zone while damaging the ones that come into the zone. His incredible leap forward on defense shows he has the work ethic, now we will see if a steady diet of plate appearances allows him to improve his production at the plate.

So Jim Edmonds tried harder than Holliday?

So Jim Edmonds put more effort towards CF? It wasn’t his talent but rather effort?

He had looked good yesterday in his AB's.

IF able to maintain that approach we might see him get
more than a game in May.

Reset. See who can play see who can’t. 162 game assessment period.
Part of this process is the sitting on bench games. Learning structure and predictability at the highest level. An over all learning process.
