With Gray fading and RH closing elsewhere, this could be a very .500ish rotation.

How's this starting rotation shaping up in three years to go along with my projected lineup? 1) Liberatore 2) Pallante 3) Roby 4) McGreevy 5) Mathews.

I think we need a FA replacement for Fedde. A #3 we can expect a minimum of 175 innings. 10-15 $M/yr. I don’t care if it’s a 1 year deal. We have too many guys w/ innings issues. Mathews might be a pleasant surprise but not willing to bet the season on it. McGreevy same thing. Roby is another year away for starting…even if he remains healthy and gets to 6 innings in minors by August.

With Mathews hurt, I would not count on him next year at the beginning of the year. Roby is likely at the end of next year or 2027. Graceffo made a statement today with 5 innings of stellar relief work. His velo, movement and location all looked good.

The Cards should let this play out until the end of June to see if they have any chance for the playoffs. If not, they should try to trade very free agent to be pitcher, Fedde, Helsley, Matz and Mikolas as well as Arenado. Helsley should bring a haul, Matz if he keeps pitching this well, may bring a decent return as well. Fedde they probably should have traded this offseason...I would think they could get 4-6 more pitching prospects out of that group. Hopefully at least 2 starting pitching prospects and 2-4 high octane bullpen prospects. That should set this team up for a 2027 window to compete.

The only one that could have been close on the top of my head was the early 2000 Athletics with Mulder, Hudson and Zito. Although after researching while Zito was a rookie in 2001, Mulder was in his second year and Hudson in his third year. However their ages were 23, 23 and 25 so they were pretty young. I get what you are saying though.

Libby--looking good

Pallante--has slipped this season so ??? for 2026

McGreevy--Looked good but a very SSS, league could catch up to him

Mathews--Not ready given his setback

Roby--No chance, too injury prone

That SR is very, very "iffy" at best.

Bloom needs to find at least one FOTR starter, if not two via FA or trade for the 2026 SR to be solid.
