Terrence Jon Francona > Oliver Marmol--How did Redlegs get Terry Francona?

This is a big deal.
I wasn't aware they had him until last night.
So, Craig Counsell to Cubs and now Francona to Reds?
Wow.
And we have Marmol.
If this wasn't so pathetic
it would be hilarious.
Unbelievable.

If you have any specific questions for Marmol, please let me know. I’m going to a function where he’s speaking and there will be a Q&A afterwards.
I’m not a Marmol fan because l didn’t think he was qualified for the job, but I won’t embarrass him in front of a large crowd with any inappropriate questions.

I really don’t have any questions for him. But if you can corner Mo or BDW I have a lot of questions. Too many to list.

Big whiff by BDWJr
Just like he did on M. Scherzer when he wanted to come home during his first tour of free agency.

What does he credit for the progress of liberatore?

The Reds got Tito because their GM isn’t an immature 12 year old girl who melts whenever his stupid moves are questioned. Oli is truly a function of dysfunction by Moe and Bill. It is a ridiculous situation that the man in charge of the franchise is allowed to act this way by his boss who is responsible for the investments of his partners in the Cardinals. Cranny says what a great businessman Bill is. At the least, you have to say he WAS a great businessman. Right now he’s sitting on the Longoria bidet while his baseball franchise falls apart.

We could have had Francona immediately following TLR. It was a mistake not to hire him then and it has been any other time he's been available since then.
Not that he's even amazing, but he sure would bring a lot to this team.

He will probably just be happy to finally see a large crowd

He had some great success in Cleveland with a front office that likes to penny pinch. I’d argue he’s no worse than a top 10 manager. The bow tie whiffed horribly on this one. Tougher pill to swallow when the sole reason for not hiring him was because TLR made Mo feel inferior so Mo made himself a promise to never let that happen again.
Hence the combined managerial experience of 0 games(at time of hire) with his 3 managers

Ask Oli if he felt like he was ready to be a big league manager when he was hired and if he had been the GM, would he have hired an himself back then. Lastly, ask him what he thinks he’s going to list his house for in October.

Curious if without prompting he mentions Dusty Blake.

Age might be a factor in why teams don't want him at this point.

Those are questions meant to embarrass. Won’t do that.
The question about Liberatore is a good one.

I hope he does. Blake didn’t earn his job.
