Palm Beach is in first place in the FSL East standings....1 game over the St. Lucie Mets.

PMB holds a +47 run differential. That's outstanding....BUT it could/should be much better than that. PMB offense is rated #1 in all statistical categories, save OBP.

Their pitching is 3rd in ERA ....which is really good...all things being considered....BUT, if you break that down a bit, the RELIEVER'S ERA is next to last in the league at 5.61 ERA. The relievers allow 76 walks (2nd worst). The Starter's ERA is 2nd in the league at 2.51 ERA.

We're talking maybe a +60 run differential if the BP had much better control.

Their offense is hitting well top to bottom pretty much. Lots of .700+ OPS’s, which feels good for that league.

Memphis goes for the SWEEP this afternoon vs. Norfolk (Orioles). The Redbirds sit atop the International League West standings, and 4 games back of Jacksonville (Marlins) for the overall lead and the all important Playoff Birth awarded to the 1st Half Champs.

The Bullpen has gotten a bit better, but theirs room for improvement. Munoz, Loutos, Shreve, and Roycroft need to be a LOT more consistent. Weiss, Taylor, Granillo have been a blessing so far. The starters have been bleh...but a few of them are holding their own, with McGreevy putting up McGreevy QS's...or near them.

RETURN of the HONEYMAN.... sounds like a Horror Movie. 3 game absence, but he's back. I hope they used enough Scotch-Tape :?:
