Arguably the Right move by Brewers

Wrong outcome

If it goes extra, brewers win

IDK - Home teams have some advantages in extras. And they Cards haven't played an extra inning game at home.

they do in the post season. Its all about how important you think today is. Note, no one includes has the closer not pitcherd for the previous 4 days or more, does the team have day off tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. Does tomorrows starter actually suck and opponents great, and thus highly unlikely to use tomorrow...... a real decision has many factors.

Not sure this is 100% valid but... Home team winning percentage in extra innings, 2020-24: .493

Still the right move, Murphy played to win.

Cards were down to Jo Jo and Swanson for 10th and beyond.

Brewers could use closer again in 10th or another power arm against bottom of Cards order. That game was trending Brewers if it went extra. They scored 5 in last 4 innings.

Megill threw a heater where you cant throw one to Arenado regarding power, missed his location by two feet.

I never liked the rule that allows a pitcher that blew a save (especially) to get awarded a win. I thought the scorekeeper had the discretion in that regard.

They lost two straight extra innings games to the Angels in the opening home stand (games 4 and 5).

Pitcher of record always gets the win in modern baseball.
