Could burleson pitch??

Would it be a bad idea for the cards to have burly start to get some looks at pitcher. He was a top of the line pitching prospect back in his college days. Just something for your brain to ponder.

He could pitch, but he wouldn't get many outs.

I’d rather see Winn pitch.
I’d like to see Burly in a different uniform

He has plenty of body fat to float just fine. Float him down the river to the Gulf, slap a tariff on him and ship him to Mexico.
That wasn't nice JD ...................... saved you the trouble Cranny.
But instead you can about guess what's likely to happen, he'll start hitting some with a little more power to tease his OPS into the .700's for a while, just enough for Oli's lust to get his overrated bat back in the lineup. Problem is it'd take a sustained +.800 OPS for Burly to provide some value. He might have a month or two a season like that per season, but doesn't show the consistency/plate discipline to maintain at those levels and has no other positive tools to offer .................... unless like the OP suggested with a twist ................. float him up the Illinois river with an attached trolling (hi shady) motor to Peoria and let him pitch.
Hurry back Herrera.

Burleson wasn't a weekend starter until 2020...starting 4 times (CoVid season cut short) on Fridays. The seasons before that, he pitched out of the BP and Opened games on Tuesday and Wednesday (Bullpen Games)....relieved on Sunday for an inning. He would get 2-4 innings a week over 2 appearances.
In 2020 as a starter he had a close to 4.24 ERA vs. bad/lesser competition.... William and Mary, Elon, Charlotte.
He sat 87-88mph EV on his fastball as a LHP starter....up to 89-90mph out of the BP at times.
He wasn't a "Top of the line pitching prospect"....if he was, he would've been drafted as such.
This OP evaluation/claim seemed especially shady
