Very nice homestand against a good Phillies team.

Nice jobs by Pallante and Libby.... Decent outing for Mikolas...just too many DP's in game 2.

Nice to see Willson untracked.

And beat Paul Skenes. Pretty tough week of pitching that we faced. Overall did well vs them.

Two shutouts of the Phillies offense in 3 games.

We could easily be talking about a sweep of the Phillies. That Saturday game was certainly frustrating. 4 DPs in the first 5 innings. 5 DPs for the game. One well timed hit could have changed that whole game. Heck, a few fly balls instead of those DP grounders would have made a huge difference.

Not complaining about the series win but the Saturday game was certainly winnable.

Not much to complain about today. Gave up no runs, one walk, and three hits to a great hitting team. Starter went six, no errors, seven runs scored, and seven extra base hits. Very nice.

What a fun series. After the road trip I wasn't sure they had it in them.

Happy surprises are appreciated!

Could easily be talking about 10-5 team but oh well, that's why they play 162. By the time it's all said and done, teams are typically what their record says.

Considering the rough starts by the pitching staff, 0 fers from Willy and Wynn, and IL stints for Herera, Gorman, and Wynn, things could be much worse than 7-8.

It’s why this year is particularly frustrating. After maybe outperforming themselves last year and finishing above .500 and adding to their team the Cardinals decided to go to salary dump mode. They decided to shave 30-40 million off the payroll and roll with a team that had some fixable holes. Maton has been a find at 2 million. Adding another reasonable bullpen arm and a RH bat who could actually add some production would have made a big difference.

Offense seems to be productive so all that is required is some decent SP…….Starting Miles is not Decent SP

not to mention strike three called a ball to Schwarber. the RBIs by Castellanos should not have happened because Schwarber would have been the third out of the inning

I had already forgot about that. You are correct. I’m now wondering if BDW/Mo decide to take a different tact with this team, this year. There is room to make improvements to the team without breaking the bank. Do they move Arenado? Do they move Helsley? Short term improvements over long term improvements? We are around .500 and Milwaukee isn’t what they were. The Cubs just got more bad news. What will happen.

4 of their 8 losses were 1 run games. (I consider Xtra inning games because 1 more run and it wouldn't have gone extra).
The team has been competitive, and in reality, that's what all of us were hoping for this year. And, unlike last years team, this team is fun and creates some excitement.

Home cooking. Win 2 out of 3 at home gives you 54 wins

I think this is who this team is. Not taking 2/3 from contenders at home, but just a team that when they're cooking play beautiful baseball. I think we're going to take our lumps for sure, but on the whole...I'm not embarrassed by this team.

All the same, 2/3 at home from the Phillies against two of their top pitchers, and doing a pretty good job to shut down the Schwarber/Turner/Harper/Castellanos monster. They averaged less than two runs per game this series. I ain't mad at that.

I learned a long time ago that you can't take one road trip and then make judgments on a team. Case in point.. Milw. Brewers opened up at NYY not only went 0-4 but got slaughtered badly .. Yankees had a 20 run game followed by a 12 run game in the final pair.
Then after some in their local media questioned whether the team would be bad in 2025 without star SS Willy Adames (who left in FA to Giants ) , the Brewers went 8-2 the next 10 games winning twice in close extra innings games. Now they lost their last two and are 8-8 .
SO 0-4, 8-2, 0-2 thus far. So kinda useless to make declarations about being good, bad, etc.
