This is Graceffo's normal day in the Memphis rotation, but the Memphis coaches were talking about pushing him back to Sunday, to have him on 6 days rest...last appeared Sunday with St. Louis

Peoria defeated in game one by the South Bend Cubbies 4-2. Winquest gave up 2 runs in 3 innings... 2H, 1 BB....4 K's. Showalter couldn't get thru the 4th inning. 2 R with 1 base hit and 3 BB's. Only hitter of note on the Peoria club was Gazdar who went 3 for 3. The shortstop is hitting .357 with .829 OPS.

The Chiefs are 0-7. Not sure who they have to inspire them to a few victories.

One quick thing.

Just an observation from last night into this afternoon. Travis Honeyman exited last night's game (his season debut) in 8th inning after 3 AB's. I thought 1) they're limiting his work load in the first few games. He was 2 for 3, Double, Single. or 2) He's injured again...he couldn't even last 9 inning this season before an injury.........

He's not in tonight's lineup....and of course you never hear anything from the Club until months later. Maybe he plays tomorrow? I don't know.

We're 2 separate shoulder injuries and surgeries removed from his draft in the 3rd round in 2023.... We certainly don't make picks count when they're our 2nd and 3rd overall pick in the draft.....Holiday and Campos in 2024 come to mind , too....Ryan Holgate, Josh Baez 2021.

In the bottom of the 4th inning, Springfield is down 8-0. Rajcic is already out of the game. He was bad! Barrios is in and not much better. Wetherholt has a hit and a walk, Davis has walked twice. Moquette has a single, that’s it for our AA team.

Peoria won their game 4-2. They had 10 hits. Davila was the winning pitcher, with Gonzalez the save.

In Memphis, the Redbirds are down 6-2 in the 7th. Graceffo did start, and gave up 4 runs in only 4 innings of work. Cornwell 2 runs in 2 innings of work. Nick Anderson put a zero in an inning with 2 K’s.
Helman has 2 hits, Vilade has a hit and a run scored. Barrero has walked twice and scored. Not much offensive out of this group! Lots of very low batting averages!

Palm Beach came up big today, winning their game 11-3. Davis started and went 4 innings, allowing 1 hit, 1 run, 4 walks, and 6 K’s.
Burns followed Davis and got the win. He went 2innings, 1 hit, no runs, fanned 3.
Martin continued his hot hitting, with 3 more hits, he’s up to .419. Kross homered and drove in 3 runs. Hernandez scored twice and knocked in two more. Our minor league catchers continue to rake! Kross and Madron are both hitting .333 on the season.

Top of the 9th Memphis has the bases loaded, one out. Collin’s and Torres with walks and Antico with a single.
Stauss just struck out! Fermin up. Cookie cutter pitch down the middle and he flies out to end the game. Fermin and Koperniak are both scuffling right now. Both are hitting a woeful .167. Torres is batting .414. Helman did have 3 hits tonight , raising his average to .211! Woohoo!

The last good hitting day for Koperniak was a 4 for 4 against the Cards.

It has to be really discouraging for him and Fermin, after the springs they had to again be playing at Memphis. Both probably need a fresh start with another organization.
