Rest assured, you're still terrible.

I recommend glasses when you're behind home plate. Angel Hernandez is gone, I hope that you're next.

It isn't just incompetence, but raw vindictiveness. He punched out Walker during a key rally in the 6th because Walker visibly objected to his lousy call in the 1st inning.

Each and every year, i think to myself that it's not possible for him to be worse, but he exceeds expectations.

He's absolutely terrible. The worst of the worst.

I hate to see people lose their job, but needs to go.

He’s on a gigantic power trip, performing in front of thousands of people. He eats it up. I can’t believe MLB allows this to go on.

He really kept the Phillies in the game with those calls in the 6th.

Have you paid attention to MLB over the past few years? Rob Manfred is an idiot. He has done about as much as possible to worsen the game. The guy wanted to add a rule that the losing team could pick whichever batters they wanted in the 9th inning. Not to mention the ghost runner and throw over rules. Keeping bad umps is not surprising.

Wasn't it last week, the 'mercy' rule was being kicked around similar to some softball leagues. If your team is down by 10 runs with X amount of innings remaining , the game ends . On a game I saw, the announcer said well teams can score runs so maybe 15 runs should be the 'mercy' number.

Baseball is a game of career stats etc. So put in that mercy rule and players on the team leading the suspended game lose chances for more HR's RBI hits etc. for their career numbers. Imagine a guy chasing the all-time HR leader and in his final game his team has a blowout lead and he doesn't get to bat in the last few innings. His fan base would be hopping mad he was denied an at bat or two .

Absolutely. The guy has the biggest ego in the game,.....which should never be tolerated from an umpire.

The Umps must have a very powerful Union??
Bucknor is the latest in line of pathetic incompetents and it is embarrassing to baseball.
When you hear an Umps name listed and you wince that is bad.
Like they say....the BEST Umps and refs aren’t well known by name.
That’s because they’re doing their job and aren’t involved in daily screwups.

First line above is the complete story.

Yes. And it’s ridiculous.

The guy's been awful forever. Didn't he hold a grudge against Edmonds for years?

Not sure? Maybe you’re thinking of Phil Cuzzi? I remember him ejecting Edmonds in the middle of a crucial AB in the NLCS or WS.

Yes and i think that there was another player in St Louis that he pulled this with. Maybe McGwire a long time ago? This said, it seems as though Bucknor pulls this off at least twice a year, so it's probably impossible to keep up with. His strike last night was beyond pathetic. I really do hope that he's not a post season Ump. His skills set is clearly under qualified or he's simply not capable of calling an objective game.
