Mariners are exploring the infield market per MLB Rumor. If the Cards aren't going to play Gorman (2, 3, DH) on pretty regular basis, now might be time to try to swing a trade. No I don't expect them to get one the Mariners top pitchers for Gorman but it might be the time to get decent minor leaguer or.... I'd hate to see Gorman go but either play him or trade him. 12 games and he's had 8 ABs

Part of me feels like this approach may work for Gorman. Pick your spots with him. When he plays every day he falls into slumps, and as an everyday player it's getting harder and harder to believe he would be anything other than about a .225 hitter with 25-30 homers. And with most of those homers coming within a hot streak somewhere during the season. This way, he can have matchups that work in his favor and maybe have more bright moments and then you can take the leash off a little while he's hot. He can still be useful. If another team wants to offer something crazy, look into that but they've all seen the same thing we've seen.

I think it's hard to trade Gorman right now. But if we did, Seattle does have some decent pitching prospects, which is what we will need. Logan Evans seems MLB-ready, plus recent draftees Ryan Sloan and Jurrangelo Cijntje should be on our radar. OTOH, Emerson Hancock could not get out of the first inning in his only start this year -- the kind of player we don't want but that Mo specializes in. :)

More likely someone like Fermin. They lost two rh bats and are looking for a rh bat. Fermin can play left field ,second and third and has some speed. Mariners have lots of lh bats in prospects. Maybe a trade for a pitching prospect like McGraw. Guy with great talent but hasn’t been able to stay healthy

PASS

Way too young to give up a potential LH power bat, the only real power bat in the organization.

Unless of course they want to give us L. Gilbert

This is true but before the IL he still wasn't getting the PT he needs. Sadly, there's no place for him currently on this team. Wasted opportunity to see if anything has changed.

They do need to do something. Far too many guys on a "prove it" year.

When Gorman hits 33 yrs old it will still be wait till next year and then we will see his true ability.

Applaud fellow posters who still believe he can be a quality MLB player. Ship has sailed and sunk.

That's what getting old will do to you. I did but had forgotten. I think the statement that I made is still valid. He was active for 5 games and played in 2. He's being reactivated today, so going forward, they need to play more or trade him.
