yes its too late. Trades just don't happen after the season begins. Why do you keep asking these questions?

Play 100 games and see where we are. Some kind of trades will happen at that point.

While there pitching is super bad currently, I would not call their offense 'plodding' along. Scoring runs big time.. excellent RISP batting average .. overall batting avg.excellent too. Unfortunate that team's hottest young hitter Herrera went down .. that certainly hurts the offense.
Only Contreras is truly struggling . Winn has improved lately raising his tough start.

Also, it would be nice for Saggese to continue to get more ABs for the Cardinals. Does Mo want to try to still try to contend this season or build for the future? Has Scott made an outfielder expendable? Nootbaar, Burleson or even Donovan in the right deal. Plus, Koperniak would be fine at a corner outfield spot, if needed.

He looked very uncomfortable at 3b last night on the play he backed up 4 steps and made an error (almost 2 errors with the 15' high throw)

Best case scenario is Contreras and Arenado are studs and bring in some real talent at the deadline.

Saggese's better defensive position is 2B. Gorman's is 3B.

You are highly unlikely to see “significant” trades until the deadline as most teams are in the VERY EARLY evaluation phase.
Now....you could probably FORCE a trade by offering to grossly overpay which doesn’t sound smart does it??
Also....WHO do you trade??
I’d assume that interest at the deadline would center around acquiring pitching??
But....if they do move Arenado they could also be looking for a RH bat??
So far the younger bats have been mostly encouraging.
There certainly could be depth there for a deal but who do you hang onto??

I think we need to chill at least through May and then contemplate moves?

Arenado, Helsley, Gray, Contreras could bring some nice players in return. But they may not want to leave, right now. Maybe Fedde. And with Scott's development, one of Nootbaar, Burleson and even Donovan could be available. This is considering commitment to a reset.
