Same old same old w/LIbby

Can't get RHH'ers out, through 2 starts:
.342 .342 .488 .829

He belongs in the pen' where he thrived in multiple innings relief, enough w/Mo and Oli trying to force him into being a starter.

(And DFA Mikolas by May 1st, the guys been toast for two plus seasons)

All Libby needs is more time. You’ll see.

Sarcasm RoJo?

Because he's NEVER been able to have success vs RHH'ers (career: .296 .366 .509 .875).

Gray actually has an excellent WHIP. Possible that he and Fedde will regress to the upside.

Gray's issue has been the HR ball (started in the spring), three in his two starts.

Like you said, great WHiP + a 7.5 to 1 KO-BB rate.

Just keep the ball in the park and he'll be fine.

the sad thing, Rock, is this:
no matter how often you or I or others say, "fire MO, fire Oli, sell DeWitt, DFA Miles"...
it won't hasten any of that.
that's the sad thing IMO

You're so right birds'.........but at least Mo (and likely Oli too) is gone after game #162!

But it still feels good to say it, better to blow off steam than hold it in.

Now thru 3 starts Grays ERA is coming down.

You are probably right this is only his 4th year in MLB and he has not looked good starting in minors or majors in those 4 years. Maybe all he needs is another four years.

Matz pitched well in Spring Training. 2.29 ERA
Matz pitched well in the season. 2.16 ERA

... but he's not one of our best 5 starters.

Cards pitching gave up runs in big innings in games 5 to 10. In only six games they allowed...

7 1-run innings
2 2-run innings
4 3-run innings
3 4-run innings
2 5-run innings

They look awful in runs allowed but look better in hits allowed, WHIP, HR allowed, OPS against, etc.

So hopefully this is all back luck in sequencing and will even out later in the season.
