It still is, they're 3-7 and other than Skenes their SP is bad with Jones on the IL. We should at least win 2/3 from the Pirates.BrummerStealsHome wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025 20:34 pm In normal years, it would be a mercy that the Pirates are next on the schedule.
You never know what Keller could pull out of his..... hat. In Pitt it looks like a 50/50 series.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025 20:51 pmIt still is, they're 3-7 and other than Skenes their SP is bad with Jones on the IL. Meh, the offense has still been consistently quite strong. Sure the pitching has sucked though. Pittsburgh’s lineup is not remotely close to Boston’s though.Mort Gage wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025 21:00 pmYou never know what Keller could put out of his..... hat. THeysure have .. Cards offense got 7 runs tonight and double digit hits. They now are in 2nd place all-time for most consective games from start of season having 10+ hits per game in the last 125 years. 9 games with Cleveland having 10 as the leader . Quite the start for the Cardinals offenseFuturegm2 wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025 21:03 pmMeh, the offense has still been consistently quite strong. Sure the pitching has sucked though. After the 'thrashing in Beantown' comes the 'pummeling in Pittsburgh'?BrummerStealsHome wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025 20:34 pm In normal years, it would be a mercy that the Pirates are next on the schedule.
I’m not sure what people expected to happen after a 4-2 start against mediocre teams. The Cards are a .500ish team. Over the long haul, they will go 4-2 against the meh teams and 2-4 against the better teams. That is what .500ish teams do. This cat ain’t gonna bark.cardsfaninla wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025 22:03 pmAfter the 'thrashing in Beantown' comes the 'pummeling in Pittsburgh'?BrummerStealsHome wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025 20:34 pm In normal years, it would be a mercy that the Pirates are next on the schedule.
sigh
Is their pitching as bad as the Cards? I don't think so.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025 20:51 pmIt still is, they're 3-7 and other than Skenes their SP is bad with Jones on the IL. Outside of Skenes, yes it probably is, maybe worse.CCard wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025 22:47 pmIs their pitching as bad as the Cards? Hmmm....I really don't follow other teams that much but it does look worse. But then again, they are the Pirates. Don't know the upside of any but I certainly know the downside of the Cards rotation. Few strikeouts and many many baserunners. Maybe they'll get better. But insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025 22:54 pmOutside of Skenes, yes it probably is, maybe worse.CCard wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025 22:47 pmIs their pitching as bad as the Cards? Skenes: 1.46 ERA
Keller: 7.45 ERA
Falter: 8.10 ERA
Mlodzinski: 9.82 ERA
Harrington: 13.50 ERA
Heaney: 1.80 ERA
We face Mlodzinski, Skenes, and Keller.
Agreed, it's not like they didn't go out and get one of the best players in baseball and added them to their roster.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025 21:03 pmMeh, the offense has still been consistently quite strong.
