The Red Sox will be calling up right-hander Hunter Dobbins from Triple-A Worcester, according to Chris Henrique of the Boston Sports Journal. Dobbins will be Boston’s 27th man for its doubleheader with the Cardinals today, and since he was already added to the 40-man roster last November, no corresponding transactions are required.

If Dobbins gets some action in either of the two games, it will mark the 25-year-old’s Major League debut.

anyone heard who Cards 27th roster spot goes to?

I believe he is. If he can get some consistency going, he could really help the Cardinals bullpen. And maybe even as a spot starting pitcher. He was a good pickup by Mo.

They may want someone to eat lots of innings if a starter pitches poorly

I’m sure we are desperate for a split. I’d bet if game one gets out of hand early, we see a long stretch from a pitcher. Take on for the team.

Or

We could smoke them.
