I said to a few buddies before the season that Herrera is going to have the best offensive year on the Cardinals.

One of the few predictions of mine that has potential to actually pan out.

Yeah I was ok sacrificing def. for his bat. Marmol has to be a fool to not play him everyday at this point.

What IF Herrera, Walker, Scott and Gorman all broke out this year? Then JJ came up and raked? Then Crooks came up and shined?
Libs and Mikolas were around .500 type SP's, while Gray, Pallante, Matz and Fedde all pitched well? Mathews and McGreevy progressed well?
Noot was an All-Star? Arenado had a rebound year? Helsley pretty much replicated last year? Winn and Contreras started producing like last year and stayed healthy?

Well, come on, it's spring, surely some optimism can be tolerated.

And I think that last one was beyond BML.

Congrats to Herrera. Once again, Mozeliak doesn't know the farm system talent, so he puts $90 million towards a catcher with Herrera in the pipeline. The Contreras money could have gone to a 1st baseman that hits and fields.

Jesus...just be happy with Herrera and leave it at that...one doesn't necessarily correspond with the other. WillyCon isn't blocking Ivan the terrible, his poor throwing is limiting his value as a catcher

He hits the ball very hard. Kills left handers, he needs to play every day.

To play every day, Burly needs to be traded or relegated to bench duty. Same with Gorman. Burly really needs to go. His ceiling is not high, and he may have reached it.

Contreras is a hitter and he fields 1B just fine. He's going to be a plus player there. I still think .900 OPS this year. Wait for it.

And yes Herrera gets 2/3rds of the starts at catcher. Pages gives him a good break. Otherwise ask Oli why not.

+1 burly even last season had just over an .800 OPS against right handers it’s not like hes a big masher agsinst them. Herrera can play against righthanders and left handers. No platoon necessary

And to be clear, I wasn't including Gorman in the "should be traded" notion. I was trying to say he needs max PAs just like Herrera. Gotta find out whether he can reach his ceiling. So Donovan may have to lose PAs. So be it. He's nothing special, and his ceiling is not that high. He can return to utility duty or also be traded.

If Arenado is staying, there is no room for all these guys. And this year was to be the year "we find out" about Gorman, Walker, Scott, Herrera. Let's find out and let the chips fall where they may or may have to
