what is it with the obsession over batting order...contreras is a vet he will hit and walker is starting to get comfortable batting 7th and doing well..

This is nothing new for Walker as he's had success his first two season hitting at the bottom half of the order. Meanwhile, WillyC has been awful so far.

It should be about constructing lineups conducive for winning, not players feelings.

Idk, they’re averaging 7 runs/gm right. That’ll do, no?

If, after the ASB he's hitting at a high level, then talk about giving him more responsibility. Until then, leave the kid alone and let him experience some success.

And Contreras will be fine.

really though. What the heck is wrong with hot bats at 7-8? You don't like the 4-5-6 guys to score runs? Or does it peizz you off when Noot comes to bat with runners on base? I just can't figure out which of those two conditions is so upsetting to you.

I like Walker in the 7 hole. Low pressure, but still important to being a successful line-up. I think about those Cards teams from 20-25 years ago. Edgar Renteria seemed to hit 7th, or Reggie Sanders, and both were good post MV3-threats in the line-up. Let Walker run with 7, and when/if he starts to really establish himself, then move him up. But for right now, I think it's ideal.

I agree 6th or 7th is fine for now I would put him hitting of Burly and hit Burly 7th. Arenado 4th, Herera 5th and Walker 6th would be what I would like to see But it wont happen Oli likes his right left and wont have 3 righties in a row too many games

Wouldn't mind if they tried a lineup like this:

Scott CF
Walker RF
Nootbaar LF
Arenado 3B
Contreras 1B
Donovan 2B
Herrera C
Gorman DH
Winn SS

Leave it how it is. Scoring runs hasn't been a problem. Willy C will heat up.

I’ve been out of the loop for an awhile here, is Web7 always this big of a moron? Insufferable to this point.

You know what is an ideal lineup? One that has real potential to force a pitcher into high stress innings, all the way through the lineup. That's what this team is doing right now. Will it last? We'll see, but for now, why not just enjoy what's going on.

There's always one or two who want to construct the typical LL lineup where you just plant the cold hitters at 7-8-9. What does that buy?
