Seemed intentional by Colorado. Didn’t use Mckinnnon or Makar in the shootout
They want no part of Binner in the playoffs

That is odd, but really dumb if that is the case. They are a virtual lock, but still not a statistical lock. Throwing away points in their position over who you want higher in the standings below you is a terrible move.

More fuel for our fire.
Blues players gotta see what's going on and smell the blood.

Hard to argue otherwise, isn't it?
Re: Seemed intentional by Colorado. Didn’t use Mckinnnon or Makar in the shootout
Facts:
Makar's last successful shootout goal was in 2021-22. He is 1-4 in his career
MacKinnon is 0-3 this year, 14-45 for career, 31.1 percent
Based on a poster's comment, I'm presuming the three who shot were Coyle, Nichushkin and Colton
Coyle is 1-2 this year, 19-52 career, 36.5 percent
Nichushkin 1-3 this year, 3-6 career, 50.0 percent
Colton 0-1 this year, 5-10 career, 50.0 percent
Avs have three shootout goals this year: Nichushkin, Coyle and Brock Nelson
Tell me who the logical choices were.

I never expected MacKinnon to be 31% for his career. That stat blew my mind as I consider him easily a top 5 player in the NHL. Similar to McDavid, he has the skill and speed that seems like a shoe-in for someone who would be great at shootouts.blues2112 wrote: ↑01 Apr 2025 07:58 am Facts:

If the last game is steering Colorado, Colorado fears the post more than Binnington.
I don't see that Colorado is afraid of the Blues.

They should be. They don’t have Kadri to take out Binnington this year.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑01 Apr 2025 09:33 am If the last game is steering Colorado, Colorado fears the post more than Binnington.

Being the best at the shootout doesn’t necessarily come from being the best player overall. It’s not like Oshie was ever a Top 10 player in the league, but he’s one of the best ever to do it in the shootout.

add to this, it appears like the Avs fans claim that all of their guys are terrible at shootouts, atleast during the reddit GDT yesterday. They didn't seem too upset with the choices. Alas, another bummer for the Blues. You would hope 95 gets you in, but the way this race is going the West is going to have to break records to get in, while the East is breaking records in futility to get in.blues2112 wrote: ↑01 Apr 2025 07:58 am Facts:

Calgary has the 9th best record and are pacing for 92 points. In no way shape or form is this a year where records need to be broken to get in. In fact it's a relatively easy year to get in, for both conferences.
(FWIW this record would be Buffalo and Montreal each had 96 points about 7-8 years ago and didn't get in)

Looked up McDavid, 46.9 percent; Kyrou 22.2.Kilokaai wrote: ↑01 Apr 2025 09:26 amI never expected MacKinnon to be 31% for his career. It is going to take quite a run for the 2nd WC in the East to get to 90 pts. 6-2-1 for the Habs or 6-1-1 for the Rangers and better for any of the other contenders. Never would have guessed that back in January when it seemed like it was going to take 96 or 97 to make it.seattleblue wrote: ↑01 Apr 2025 12:04 pm Calgary has the 9th best record and are pacing for 92 points.
