I thought the order they used the relievers was odd. None of the big strikeout guys were available in the 10th. That's when you need them!

no kidding, not like they were trying to walk them. Sometimes you don't have control, especially in cooler temps. i did pitch at a decent level and you do lose feel for the ball when it's cool like that. "Gutless" is incorrect

It sucks that he didn't have control and I get what people are saying but come on if he fell behind in the count and threw a fastball down the pipe to make sure he didn't walk anyone and gave up a homerun there wouldn't be a single person defending him giving up the homerun and say "well at least he didn't walk him" there would be threads saying "well when you fall behind in the count they can sit on a get me over strike dumb pitching"

Again I ask. On here I heard walk was not as good as a hit. Yet these walks keep scoring.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this isn't the last time something like this is going to happen.

I know this may be hard for you to accept but even some of the better pitchers in the league walk hitters, occasionally. It even happens at inopportune moments sometimes.

I guy at my gym told me that even Greg Maddox walked a guy once. Although, I'm not sure I believe this. Dude is a bit of a weirdo.

Sounds good but then if the reliever is throwing strikes over the middle and two guys back to back hit HR's , then people complain the reliever was throwing meatballs right down the gut and no wonder the batters were teeing off on the pitcher.
I can go out there and throw strikes down the gut and not walk anyone ..like the pitchers do in Home Run derby competition . You can see what pro batters due with balls down the middle

Then guys would tell me Well don't throw them all down the middle , work the corners of the strikezone.. OK then some of those will be strikes but some will be just off for balls OR a corner strike spot may be called a ball by umpire It is easier said than done to say Just don't walk anyone.

ugh. Ole Lloyd has never played beyond Tee Ball. As Tony said, they are men not machines. they aren't trying to walk people

Gutless? Hitting a guy on purpose and running away from the hitter charging the mound is gutless. Walking guys is just poor pitching performance. Nothing more, nothing less
