So, I guess the Cardinals will allow JJ to play shortstop, and thereby moving Rivas off of the position, even tho the odds are JJ won’t play SS at the big league level. Rivas is really good defensively, no doubt he can play well at any position, but his most value is at Shortstop. He may never play for the Cardinals with all the infield depth they have, but him continuing to play a high level of defense might increase his trade value to another club. They appear to be going down the same road with JJ that they did with Gorman and Walker! Let’s wait until he’s in the big leagues and have him learn a new position while trying to hit ML pitching! Will they never learn?

two on the IL...and the minors are allowed more on the active roster....I think 30 total players

Is Hjerpe’s IL status arm related? He dealt with arm trouble most of last year and they opted for rest vs surgery. Correct?

He is the one guy I was really pulling for this year. Was hoping he’d have a brilliant career.

Discouraging to see Hjerpe on the IL again. Not sure what the issue is, haven't read anything about it. I think the guy is a real talent, but he's got to stay healthy.
