Really what’s the point, you want more scoring, juice the ball.
No need to change bats.

It’s the over arching idea I like- having to use the bat to actually hit a ball. Bat or not seems as if more contact is being made.

Bats have been changed many times over the years.
Cupped ends.
Different styles of knobs.
Numerous types of tape and grips.
Various types of wood.
Wide spectrum of available weights.
All of the options which have evolved over the years have benefits and drawbacks.
Torpedo bats are no different.
By the way, there is nothing all that new about widening the barrel down to the trademark: Babe Ruth was famous for it.
Which is one reason the bats he used were so heavy - probably the heaviest ever used, in his prime.
The Yankees' torpedo design is simply a slight modification of what Ruth did a hundred years ago.
That's very fitting in a way.
On another note, I have watched several games over the past 3 days and have heard various references to the torpedo bat and the Yankees.
Not one mention of how it clearly descended from Ruth.
Well, other than from me, of course.
But, the best analysis anywhere, anytime, from anyone is just what I do.
