If Noot doesn't leadoff they lose this game

He's the most critical player in this lineup and will be the whole season long. As long as he stays healthy, they have a real shot of making some noise.

Totally agree, I really hope he stays healthy. Best combination of power/patience potential they have IMO, perfect for the top of the order.

OR maybe if Scott wasn’t in CF to run to make that great running catch (unsure if Siani gets to that one ) the Cards may not have won,
Both runner likely score on that ball.

It was a good play by Scott, and encouraging improvement over last year in terms of jump/route. But I think Siani also makes it almost every time.

Siani gets that one also

Agreed.
That was a good team on the field yesterday I must say.

It's only just begun.

Nope. They don't score in the first and the heads start to hang. Then second time around Noot ignites one out and the bench goes wild. Without Noot Scott's catch is a nice to have but doesn't win the game.
If you watched the game you would have seen this. The infectious positivity he brings is remarkable. Nootbaar is the offensive leader on this team.

It's ok to get excited about an opening day win. Every fan base does. Every single one.
It's also ok to get excited about a team with low expectations playing well and beating a good pitcher.

Best all round OF'er on the team, could be the best hitter too if he stays healthy for 550+ PA's.
(Of course mel will trash him

)

I like Nootbaar at LO.
They will be tempted often to move him to an RBI position. #8 and #9 have to get on base.
Yesterday Walker was the player that got on base before the lineup flipped.
Siani, Pages at the bottom could be lean for runs.
Depending on who's hot or cold, LN has a strong possibility of being 1-3 and 5 on this roster.
Would he have got more RBI's at #5 yesterday?

Siani catches that ball...
He can't hit, but he's GG Caliber in Center...

They played with energy yesterday, and looked like they WANTED to be out there. Too many ho-hum games looking like going thru the motions last year. All we can hope for is that the youth on this team instills some fun in cardinal baseball again!

Siani is a quality CFer. And possibly GG caliber. And over the course of a full year would probably save more runs than Scott. But I'm not sure he would have got to that one. That was pure elite speed to get to that one.

That catch not only required incredible hand-eye/glove coordination but SPRINT SPEED:
VSII Sprint Speed:
30
Ranks in the Top 1% of all of MLB
M. Siani Sprint Speed:
28.3
Ranks in the Top 24% of MLB
I was at the game, JMO but I don't think Sinai gets there.
